If you’ve been watching TV, you know that this season of American Horror Story: Freakshow features a killer clown. Clowns. The universe’s nightmare. My pal Xenia loves this show, and it made me think of tv shows and movies I’ve watched that contained clowns. Since it’s October, why not list a few to scare the bejeezus out of your loved ones?
TV and Movies with Clowns
Pennywise is his name and he terrorized a group of children. In fact, those children grew up and had to come back to their hometown at the call of one of their friends…who died by his hands. A-hole. Originally a novel by Stephen King, it was adapted into a multi-part tv movie… I know, right!? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it was on ABC! The family network!!
No, this clown wasn’t “real.” It was a doll. What’s just as bad as a person dressed as a clown? A clown doll. This a-hole messed with Robbie, the son in the family. At night, the clown would sit in a chair. But no, it would move to a different location of his room. He ends up under the bed, scaring the crap out of the kid and attacking him. What.a.jerk.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
So this is categorized as a horror comedy. I don’t think so. I watched this when I was about 12 and it wasn’t funny. It was scary. These alien clowns show up in town and starts to kills its residents. It ends with a battle at a carnival, of course.
You think I forgot? Hell no. While this isn’t quite a scarefest, it still features a clown-turned-zombie. Listen to Jesse Eisenberg’s character when he preaches Rule #1 – Cardio. How else will you keep away from fast-moving zombies?
Maybe this is more of an anti-Jack Nicholson blurb but I think the Joker qualifies as a clown. I only put him in here because I don’t like Nicholson. He plays the same character over and over and over. It’s like he’s not even trying.
So this takes me to …
…and Heath Ledger’s Joker. Three words: the pencil scene.
And of course, this season’s sweetheart:
American Horror Story: Freakshow
Xenia tweeted about Twisty the Clown and I am OK with not ever watching an episode of this season. No, thank you.
Traumatized by Twisty’s mouth #barf #AHSFREAKSHOW

Who else is watching this show? Care to just spoil it for me so I don’t have to subject myself to 13 episodes of clown trauma?

So there you have it. If you Google “horror movies with clowns,” you’ll get a lot of results. There are movies I’ve never heard of that star clowns as killers. Aren’t they all killers in some way or another?
THIS POST IS NOT OK, PEOPLE! NOT. OK.
Bwhahaah!
Hahahaha! No I am not a fan of Clowns! But I am loving American Horror Story so will bear it. But Killer dolls and killer clowns is where I draw the line! 🙂
I have no idea where my sick amusement from clowns came from lol Thank you for creating a clown avoidance guide, let’s go to Wasco!
I’m not especially scared of clowns (in general), but I’m not about to check out AHS’s Freakkshow at all. It’s not the clowns, it just the whole scary that I can’t deal with; but now that I think about it, some of them clowns are pretty scary!
