A couple of weeks ago, I was eating lunch with a friend and she pointed out that this Mother’s Day, it applied to me. Heh. If you count my incubating Spawn, then I guess so! Here’s my list of Mother’s Day gift ideas for the pregnant mamas out there!

My picks for Pregnant Mamas’ Mother’s Day Gifts
Birkenstock Sandals
Yep. I said it. I am living in my Birkenstock sandals that I received from #FitblogLA. I’m not the only one who likes them. Have you seen the instagram feed for #Birkenstocks? Even Ashley Madekwe has posted her pair. My Gizeh pair are wonderful and I wear them all the time. As summer rounds the corner, I know my pregnant feet are going to swell, and thank goodness I’ve got a pair of Birks to deal with the heat. I’m totally eyeing the Mayari pair too…

Vitamix Blender
If you love your pregnant mama-partner, you will get this. After a month and a half of owning my Vitamix, I use it almost every day. The only times I don’t use it is when I’m using the Nutribullet. My main reason for spending an arm and a leg was to get in as many fruit and vegetables as I could every day during my pregnancy… and subsequently convince Hubs to also drink his veggies. This sucker has a two-HP motor, which will blend anything you put in it. The one below is the “standard” Vitamix that you’ve probably seen everywhere.
Contigo Water Bottles and Tumblers
If you’re a preggo on the go (or commute like a motha-f-er), you probably grab your water and drink it in the car while driving to the office. Melissa Dell introduced me to these water bottles and travel tumblers by Contigo and ever since then, I’ve spotted Contigo bottles ERRRRYWHERE. I’ve seen bottles at my gym, yoga studio, LAX, just walking around Maui, and even at the car dealership. It must be the auto-seal that appeals to people. You can’t spill a drop of liquid unless you press that button. Contigo also makes child-size bottles, so you know I’ll be keeping an eye on these as Spawn gets older to drink on her own.
Kindle Paperwhite
I have the Kindle 3.0 and it’s still going on strong. However the Kindle Paperwhite is front-lit and doesn’t require an exterior book light. Holla! My sister-in-law raved about her Kindle Paperwhite – she can breastfeed and read a book at the same time without disturbing Baby Nephew. Genius. I bet Amazon didn’t think about that when they designed the Paperwhite!
Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC
I heart my Rebecca Minkoff bags. I now own two. My cousin has a yellow one, and I drooled over hers. Hubs gifted me a black and gold Mini MAC for Christmas, and I love that it fits my wallet, phone and some makeup. It’s the perfect concert, dinner, party bag. It’s also made of durable leather, which is great since I’m pretty rough on my purses. I like that you won’t have to dump your wallet in the diaper bag. You can put THIS in the diaper bag if you want and take it out and roll.
My Personal Wish List Item – Cowboy Boots
I have wanted cowboy boots for years. YEARS. We’re talking at least 15 years in the making. But real life pops up and cash gets shunted elsewhere (*cough*student loans*cough*). Every few years, I save up for a big ticket item. Cowboy boots are finally reaching the top of my wishlist. w00t!

So there you have it! My semi-practical picks for the pregnant mama’s first Mother’s Day.
What are your picks?
Was there a product or service that should have made my list?

I tried posting a comment from my phone last night when I saw you tagged my Contigo post (thanks by the way!). Yes, coffee & water are very important for new mamas. I just bought their new Jefferson Bottle. Because, as a new mom – you will need 1 hand to open/close items and also something that will not spill or leak. So, just something to think about (means wonderwoman might be retired for a bit!).
And my Kindle. I love my kindle. It was the best decision i made to ask (i mean buy) for my birthday. I have read so much since December and it’s always at night. I read mostly during that last feeding of the day because mid-night I’m checking my phone and reading my bible through my app. I cant’ imagine how much more I would have read if I used this starting last June when Luke was born. But also, probably a good thing since I just spent $35 on books the other night. I need more free ones! All the recs you sent me are trilogies or gynormologies and I can’t afford to buy 10!!!
I always forget that you’ve got to MacGyver everything when you’re a mom – doing everything one-handed bc the other hand has to carry the baby.
Funny thing – yesterday at breakfast, I met a friend of a friend and guess what he was carrying… a Contigo water bottle!!
yup. wait til lyou got a sleeping baby on you and you have to pee. LOL
haha I just want some sleep. But you’ll know that feeling soon enough. ^_~
LOL!
Shoot, I may not be pregnant but there are a couple things that I want from your list–like that bag! Happy first/early mother’s day to you, Chris [:
Sorry for the late response – but thank you, Kriselle! 🙂
