My Samsung Dream Kitchen
When I was at Mom 2.0, I stopped by the Best Buy sponsor suite to check out the latest appliances developed by Samsung. I also needed to talk to someone from the Best Buy Blogger Network about my account, so win-win for me.
The first thing that caught my eye was the fridge. If you caught my Day 2 recap on Snapchat, you’d have seen me describe the fridge with the marketing manager, who was game for my antics. This fridge will surprisingly fit in my small kitchen!
You may have seen the commercial with Veronica Mars Kristen Bell and her husband Dax Shepard, where he is touch-screening the fridge and talk to her about groceries. This fridge has three (3!!) built-in cameras and you can touch the picture of your food inside the fridge and place a date on everything. So, let’s say you forgot when you bought that brown-looking broccoli… don’t worry, you dated it and now you know it’s been sitting there for three months.
Forgot a grocery item? Don’t worry – use the Instacart app and order your groceries and get them delivered on the same day. Yo. Instacart – on the fridge! You can also watch TV, surf the net, keep a RECIPE on-screen so you don’t have to flip your iPad or keep turning it on! The entire recipe can stay on while you cook! Now that is a real plus for loser cooks like me!
The touch screen is balls-out impressive (Bluetooth, Pandora, interwebs, recipes, apps, TV), but in terms of doing the actual fridging, it is awesome. It has triple cooling management system that helps keep food fresher. I’m an idiot and has always thrown fruits and veggies into the bins and left it on low humidity. Did you know veggies like high humidity? Duh. And onions and potatoes make each other ripen faster. Gahhhhhhh.
And the storage capacity! I could store enough food for Idiocracy-times. Cus if a certain Oompa Loompa gets elected President of the United States, you know that’s coming. (I’d rather have a President Camacho, b-tee-dubs.)
I missed the start of the cooking demo but the next thing that caught my eye was Samsung’s Waterwall built-in dishwasher. It’s right behind the flower arrangement on the right. It’s got a blue light that looks Cylon-ish. (So say we all!)
If you have visited my house, you know we don’t own a dishwasher. I _am_ the dishwasher. The top appliance I saving up for is a MF dishwasher. It would be also be nice if our kitchen had the space for a dishwasher. (Our smurf house has limited space.) But look here – it’s an EnergyStar appliance. It washes with a constant waterfall, the rack is adjustable for tall items and it’s quiet!
This summer I’m hosting a few playdates with my Mommy & Me cohort and wouldn’t it be great to not have to do a ton of dishes by hand, after said-playdate?
“IN A WORLD….” where I am a lady of leisure, these would be my two choice appliances in my dream kitchen.
Alas, I am not a lady of leisure. I am a working mom. Perhaps I will win the lottery instead.
If I played the lottery.
But I digress.
Which appliance would you want in your dream kitchen? Do you care for the touch-screen fridge? Do you need a new dishwasher?
Thanks, Best Buy and Samsung, for letting me rib your marketing manager!
