“Monkey” is Baby Spawn’s nickname. Well it’s what The Wife calls her. Imagine her confusion when we exclaimed “Monkey!” as Curious George sat at the entrance to greet us! She was totally not having it. (That’s ok, George, she wasn’t a fan of Mickey, Minnie or Snoopy.)
Curious George is the newest exhibit over at the Discovery Cube LA – and it runs through January 19, 2016. In the exhibit is the history of the Reys family which is something I never knew – they fled Paris when the Nazis were coming.
This area was previously the Clifford the Big Red Dog’s space. Now it’s the monkey’s turn. This was the perfect time to bring Spawn to this exhibit.
Her current fascination has to do with monkeys and apes. Our favorite book to read is “Goodnight, Gorilla.” I’m sure it’ll soon be replaced by Curious George! I mean, it is monkeys all.day.long at our house.
Up up and away! Remember this book?? I totally do.
We learned to golf… sort of. I really love how everything at the Discovery Cube is at THEIR level. See how I’m hunched over and she’s just swinging along? Everything in this exhibit as well as the rest of the exhibits and displays are very conscious of where a child’s eye-level is at. It’s respectful to their physicality.
I was lucky to run into fellow blogger friends Monica and Trina and their children!

Monica, Trina and me!
Also if you’re like The Wife, the LA Kings’ Science of Hockey is on the second level as well as a rotating exhibit. This quarter, it’s all about spooky science and Halloween!
Discovery Cube LA is open pretty much every day from 10am to 5pm. Check dates and times, just in case. You can meet Curious George on Saturdays and Sundays in November and December (and every day between Dec 19-Jan3). Tickets are $10!! (Ticket price is valid through Jan 3, 2016!!)
Will we see you there? Let me know in the comments!
