While the cholas and I were in Las Vegas last month for #RunawayToVegas, we had the opportunity to visit Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and their newest attraction – Marvel’s The Avengers 4-D Experience!
AJ, Julie, Xenia, Marla and I met with Michele Popejoy, Head of Marketing, at The Venetian, where Madame Tussauads Las Vegas is housed. Did you know there are several new figures that are revealed every year? Yep. The figures are all made in their UK studios and cost approximately $300,000 each. EACH. Each hair is hand inserted. HAND-INSERTED! Costumes or clothes are either donated by the celebrity or the MT team has to recreate them.
I asked Michele if they needed permission from the celebrity to create a figure. Nope! All of them consider this to be an honor so they’re happy to have a figure of themselves on display.
Yes, you CAN touch the figures. It’s encouraged!
There are many figures set up on sets where you can “interact” with them. Here’s Julie with Elvis!
Going back to costumes… Madame Tussauds was fortunate to have the real Siegfried and Roy donate their ORIGINAL costumes from their STARDUST show!
The newest exhibit is the Marvel’s The Avengers 4-D Experience! Within the space, you’ll see your favorite Avengers on display.
If you’re familiar with “A Bug’s Life” at Disney’s California Adventure, it’s somewhat similar to that. You are seated in an auditorium with 3-D glasses, and you are invited to Tony Stark’s lab with the rest of the Avengers. Loki shows up, and trouble ensues! I had a fun time, and I can imagine kids would love it. Note – listen to the attendants when they urge you to put away your electronics. You may get sprinkled with water.
When you exit the theater, you are at the end of the whole Madame Tussauds experience! It’s the perfect ending to a fun and funny adventure through wax figures.
Special thanks to Michele and the Madame Tussauds team for inviting us to experience the attraction during our #RunawayToVegas journey! If you’re visiting Las Vegas, take a detour from the casino and spend some time (and take tons of pictures) at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, located at The Venetian!
Disclosure: Hosted! Photos and all the words you see above – my own honest opinion!
You are too funny. I can’t wait for the Daniel Craig post.
*looks at list* He’s going to have to be up next soon!
Those looks so real, especially Brad, it’s like the next best thing 🙂
