Popcorn. The final frontier.
When the team at GH Cretors contacted me, I thought, YASSSSSSS. I love popcorn. When they sent me popcorn, I was floored. They sent me over 24 bags of popcorn. TWENTY FOUR. I could’ve made myself a little Pack N Play of popcorn to dive into.
GH Cretors Popcorn Wins All The Things

24 FULL-SIZED BAGS
The team wanted me to try their newest flavors, and so I invited my friends and neighbors to help me out. I don’t always tell my neighbors that I blog, but now that the cat’s out of the bag, it’s kind of awesome. I have new guinea pigs!! Muahahahaha!
Thank you @ghcretors #popcorn team for the awesome package. #valentinesday #ghcretors #chicago #caramelcorn #cheesecorn
Here’s what we tried:
- Chicago Mix – caramel and cheese
- Just the Cheese corn
- Just the Caramel corn
- Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Organic Dill Pickle
- Organic Chile Jalapeño & White Cheddar

The line-up
You know I didn’t really think much about popcorn til Alyssa mentioned National Popcorn Day a couple months ago. Then I took a second look at GH Cretors’ and noticed that their kernels are huge. (That’s a running theme.) The corn is organic, non-GMO and lacks artificial flavors and preservatives. I looked at my Trader Joe’s bacon popcorn – not huge. I looked at another brand’s popcorn – not huge, skinny!
I set up a R+F event at my home and asked my friends to try out everything. Hands down, the Chicago Mix won all the things. It’s a mix of caramel and cheddar corn – genius combination. If you’ve ever been to Chicago, you know about Garrett’s. This is just as good, if not better because you can get it at your local grocery!! And it makes sense because this company’s headquarters is in Illinois and they were the ones who invented the popcorn machine. WHUT. (Watch how they make the Chicago Mix: https://youtu.be/ytAlfuhm6t4)
The Cheese corn won second place, though my friends really enjoyed the Olive Oil popcorn. My next door neighbor noticed that the kernels were completely covered with flavor so you would never get a piece without caramel or cheese or even light salt. Such a small detail but so important, right?
Recently GH Cretors debuted their newest flavors, organic dill pickle and organic chile jalapeño & cheddar. It’s like a pregnant person’s dream – the dill pickle did taste like pickle! I found it to be subtle and not too “sour/pickle-y.” I paired it with my favorite soda, Coke.
I’m not a fan of jalapeño but I wanted to see if this would change my mind. Unfortunately the jalapeño and white cheddar corn ended up being too spicy for me, but for my dude neighbor, he loved it. He said the kernels were fluffy and flavorful but didn’t blow out the fresh flavor of the popcorn. If you like jalapeños and can take spicy, try this.
Funnily enough, while Melissa and I trudged through ExpoWest, we found the GH Cretors tent. I had to say thank you in person and get a selfie.

I know it’s “just” popcorn, but it’s not just popcorn. There are some brands who sell tiny kernels for a premium. There are some brands that drizzle white chocolate (EWW) on their kernels for a premium. GH Cretors is not one to do that. In fact, I liked GH Cretors popped corn so much, I bought the supersized bag at Costco. (… and I ate it in less than a week. #thisiswhyimfat.)

YASSSSS Costco-sized for the win!
Thank you to the team at GH Cretors for providing so many samples for review. I truly appreciate the gesture and partnership. I’ve since bought another two Costco-sized bags of Chicago Mix because… hello. NOMMMMMMMMM.
Disclosure: I was provided 24 MF bags of GH Cretors for review. The above is my honest opinion.
Their Chicago bag is my FAVE. Now I am dying to try the dill.
I need to try this! Looks delicious!
Yes!!
Their popcorn rocks! I love the Just the Cheese flavor best.
I know someone who digs out all the cheese from the Chicago Mix! She splits it with her roomie who eats all the caramel.
OH!!!! I bought that popcorn before! I grabbed the Chicago mix after a trip there and found myself mainly eating the cheddar. So good!!!
