Recently I contacted Buff Bake, a small business locally owned by two women in Southern California. You KNOW I’m all about woman-owned businesses… and the fact that they make an awesome product is a double bonus.
Buff Bake Packs a Protein Punch!
Buff Bake makes superfood nut butters with protein! That’s right. Make your nut butters work for you – double time. Two cousins from Las Vegas joined forces and created this. The ingredients are simple and few: almonds, whey protein, coconut palm sugar, cinnamon, coconut oil, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and flax seed. BOOM.
I received a full size jar of Buff Bake’s Snickerdoodle almond butter, and it was fantastic! I spread it all over my Hawaiian rolls. Not a euphemism. No, friends, my King’s Hawaiian rolls. Still not a euphemism.
Then… for the piece de resistance. I made oatmeal chocolate chip breakfast cups again… with Buff Bake! Often I struggle to add protein for breakfast, and this was such an easy way to add it in! I used Halfbaked Harvest’s recipe with a few modifications. Mostly, I used one cup of chocolate chips; added an extra banana for moisture and potassium; and flax seed. I took out the maple syrup and let the bananas sweeten the cups. You really don’t need the maple syrup.

The finished product
I think my batch of oatmeal cups were even better this time around. I let them bake for 40 minutes to a golden brown. I also think Buff Bake’s almond butter baked differently than “regular” almond butter. Unfortunately I don’t think I could taste the cinnamon in the oatmeal cups because the bananas and chocolate chips overtook it. That’s ok. I’m all about the chips!
In addition to dumping a ton of Buff Bake into my oatmeal cups, I’ve been slathering Buff Bake on toast, and well… eating it out of the jar. Hey, I’m a mom to a now-four month old. I have to eat fast and spoonfuls of Snickerdoodle almond butter do the trick to tie me over until I can cook a full meal.
Buff Bake has several flavors to choose from! I’m ordering the chocolate chip. Because CHOCOLATE. But I’m also interested in the Cranberry Coconut… because COCONUT!
Have you tried different nut butters besides peanut? What brands do you enjoy?

Your oatmeal cups looked so delicious!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by! I made them regularly now – they’re so easy to make and it lasts me about a week. (I eat them as midnight snacks as well… )
