As a new mom,  this whole breastfeeding thing is a trip, and I want to highlight Bamboobies Nursing Pads for saving my ass (leaky boobs). I first learned about Bamboobies at the Natural Products Expo. I picked up a pair of heart-shaped nursing pads there, and thank god I did.

According to a few FB mom groups I’m in and Dr. Google, my boobs will regulate milk production around Months 4-5. (I’m not holding my breath.) In the meantime, I’m leaking breastmilk like someone crashed into a fire hydrant. No joke. I can whip a boob out and it literally sprays milk. TMI? Too bad. This is what I’ve run into.
I’m so appreciative for Bamboobies. These are the only nursing pads that will hold my leakage in check until I can swap the pads out.  They’re like maxi pads for your boobs but you don’t feel like a 14-year old wearing a brick. The overnight (blue) pads are my favorites. I would absolutely buy these for any new mom. When you’re engorged and forget to pump, these are a godsend.

As a reference, I have nursing pads by Medela (all cotton and suck) as well as EpiBi nursing pads (pretty good). Bamboobies’ nursing pads win because they won’t soak through at first drop.
Bamboobies are made of bamboo, cotton, hemp and polyester. There is a a poly layer with waterproofing that is the KEY to Bamboobies, in my opinion. That’s what prevents milk from leaking through your bra and top. I’ve worn the overnights in the late evening when I Â know my boobs will be engorged and might not have time to pump before Spawn wakes up and wants to feed.

In addition to the nursing pads, Bamboobies also makes a new nursing bra called the Brahhh! I was able to try this new product courtesy of the Bamboobies team. This nursing bra is not a criss-cross nor does it have a snap. You simply just pull down the bra (or pull the cup and thin strap) and bam! Boob.
This isn’t a supportive nursing bra. I wear it as a sleep bra. Well, let’s be honest. As the cow in this baby-mama relationship, I wear a nursing bra like the Brahh (or nursing tank) and running shorts. There are no underwires, the material is soft and the straps are thin. What I really like about this bra is how dang soft it is. It’s made of bamboo rayon, organic cotton and spandex for a little stretch.
If you’re nursing around the clock like I am, you’ll appreciate soft materials. Trust me.
