Traveling to Maui for our babymoon was a blast – I had a lot of fun and relaxation. I looked back to the essential items I packed, and I wanted to highlight what to pack for a beach babymoon like ours! If you’re headed to an island vacation, check out these products that should make it in your luggage!
This is in my Hall of Fame/Products I’ll Always Endorse list. I bought a set of eBags’ packing cubes many years ago, and they have been one of the best investments I’ve made for travel. This particular set comes in three sizes so you can split it up by undies, socks, jewelry, sweaters/bulky items, t-shirts, shorts, lighter items. I wish everyone ordered a set of these cubes so they could be blown away by how easy it is to organize clothing for luggage! Plus they come in a bunch of colors including black, grey, red, orange, green, pink, purple, and light blue!
A Bitchin’ Swimsuit
Look, show off that baby bump! Don’t hide it under a one-piece! Shake your bump and give it a tan. I didn’t have time to shop for a new swimsuit and brought my “non-maternity” bikini with me. It fit! Yay! You don’t have to buy a new bikini (unless your boobs are 100x bigger than your non-preggo self). But if you did… I want to point out this awesome red striped bikini by Pez D’or.
Wherever you go, always bring a water bottle with you. You are pregnant now. You will be thirsty, which means you’re already dehydrated! So suck it up and bring a water bottle with you!
We like these two bottles for different reasons. The Klean Kanteen bottle is stainless steel and doesn’t keep an odor. It has been dented in so many places and yet it still keeps ticking! Our bottle is about 8 years old, and we still lug it around!
My new favorite bottle I take along is my Camelbak Insulated Groove bottle with a plant-based carbon filter. I like it because it filters any water immediately. I’ll fill this up with airport water, and I’m not worried about drinking tap.
The plane. The plane. Who needs airplane noise on their multi-hour plane ride? I really like my Sony earbuds for travel. They’re lightweight and easy to pack. I also like over-ear headphones but if you need the space in your bag, go with the earbuds. Plus these aren’t going to cost you an arm and a leg like the Bose ones, unless you want to donate an arm and a leg.
Sunnies and a Floppy Hat
This is an obvious one! You’ve got to protect your eyes! Whether they’re fancy brand named sunglasses or the ones you get at Target, bring at least one pair. At the time of writing this post, these Ray-Bans were on sale at Nordies!
This also goes for a hat! You ain’t getting any younger, yo. Protect your face and neck with a floppy hat! Look at how happy this model is below. No more crow’s feet for her… maybe.
Another given. I slathered on Goddess Garden’s SPF30 sunscreen like there was no tomorrow. Especially around my shoulders, tattoos, and chest. I also applied and re-applied this sunscreen all over The Wife as he gets sun poisoning very easily.
The sunscreen rates a 1 on the EWG scale, which is fantastic.
Oh yeah. I’m throwing down and putting Birkenstocks on the list. Even if you’re headed on a vacation of lounging like we did, we still walked a lot. Your feet and legs are going to thank you if you wear comfortable shoes.
While I was in Maui, I bought a pair of Sanuk’s yoga mat flip flops. They had enough cushion to relieve my feet and legs, and they didn’t chafe like other flip flops. I’m a convert!
