Guess what this week marks? Baby Spawn turns three months! How do we celebrate milestones in our family? By dressing up and taking photos. In this case, we actually did dress up “fancy.” Those of you who know us know that I live in running shorts and nursing bra these days. To go out and take pumpkin patch photos…well, that calls for a shower, shampoo, and makeup. But Spawn will never be this tiny again, so The Wife and I trudged our tired asses into “fancy” (read: clean) clothes and took the little lady to a pumpkin patch to celebrate.
Rookie Moms Challenge #36 – Pumpkin Patch Photos
I love these Rookie Mom Challenges! They force me to go out and do stuff when I’d rather just stay home and be a half-naked cow. These challenges also force me to make time to shower – a good thing.
The problem with family photos is that we can’t be in them at the same time. Someone’s got to hold the camera, right?Thankfully, we have friends who like taking pictures. No, they’re not all Asian Americans. We called up our friend C (who happens to be Asian American – heh) and asked if he’d help us take some family photos to mark Spawn’s third month. I don’t have the official photos, but I did take a few on my phone and asked The Wife to snap a couple, too.
We headed to a local pumpkin patch that was recommended by an FB Mom Group that I’m in. W00t! In addition to hundreds of pumpkins under a tent, the lot featured a couple of giant inflatable slides – one of which is shaped and decorated like a shark. I wish I took a photo of it.

We clean up good.
Ta da!
Also, I love taking behind-the-scenes photos. Chalk it up to wanting to catch what the person behind the lens is doing. So, I took a few of C. I think it’s kind of neat to see the setups by photographers and camera people. (C is a camera man by profession.)
