What did I see today on Amazon that got me all excited? Packing cubes. Yep. I am an old lady now. After several road trips with Baby Spawn in tow, I’ve ordered another set of packing cubes for her and The Wife. I don’t know why more people don’t use these or a variation of these cubes! I’ve owned my packing cubes for over 10 years and the are still going on strong.
I bought my old pre-baby cubes from eBags! Amazon sells ebags brand too!
See the pic below. Do not fold your clothes. Roll them! This will help with keeping them wrinkle-free! Plus you can pack more, if you need to.

Since we are headed to Walt Disney World next year, I want to be as efficient in packing for all of us. The cubes are great because they help compartmentalize every piece of clothing for us. I’ll roll Spawn’s clothes in the smallest cube. I roll my PJs, jeans and sweaters in the largest cube. I have underwear and socks and t-shirts in the middle cube. I still have room for shorts and jewelry and scarves! They look smaller than they are. I’ve rolled dresses in the cubes for conferences and travel. I have not packed shoes in them, though. I prefer my shoes in plastic bags because I don’t like the idea of having dirt from the “outside” being mixed in with my clean clothes.
Want some suggestions on how to use these packing cubes?
- Small – electronics, cables, chargers
- Small – underwear, bras, socks, jewelry
- Small – shoes (though I’m not a fan of dirty soles in clean cubes)
- Medium – everything needed for an overnight trip zipped up and packed into a duffle or backpack
- Medium – a week’s worth of clothing for toddler – rolled up by day/outfit
- Medium – t-shirts, dresses, swimsuits, shorts, PJs – the medium is very versatile!
- Large – jeans, sweaters, cardigans, jackets, flat iron
- Large – beachtowels, jeans, snowpants, suits
What are you waiting for? They’re less than $25 today on Amazon! Go. You’ll wonder why you’ve been traveling without them. (It’s cheaper on ebags but you may have to pay for shipping.)
