When you’re pumping breastmilk into little plastic containers, your mind wanders. Mostly my mind wanders… and I think about how thirsty I am while pumping in the middle of the night. Hydration is so important while breastfeeding. But we’re not talking breastfeeding. Let’s talk water.
Anyway, I mentioned this to my friend Lindsay who’s expecting her first baby. She introduced me to Icebox Water. Its BPA-free boxy cardboard container held water cooler than your average plastic water bottle. In the pseudo-test that I did (throwing it in the fridge, leaving it out for about four hours), it did keep my water cooler. I also didn’t have to worry about tipping it over like a water bottle. Since it’s boxed water, it’s got a bigger “base” to sit on.
The water itself was crisp-tasting and definitely different from the usual bottle water you get from Costco or the supermarket. You know what I’m talking about, right?
Recently, Icebox Water provided the boxed water for the Emmys gifting suite and to announce their Green Up Hollywood campaign. And you know Hollywood could stand to save the planet from their crappy movies like … Dumb and Dumber Part 2. Oh wait, that’s not what they meant. Well…
The container is compostable, recyclable and uses 76% less plastic than a plastic bottle. I’ve been on sets where there are tons of water bottles for cast and crew. If one production changes their water bottle usage to boxed water, it would help alleviate landfills a bit.
