Spring just sprung, and now I’ve been seeing posts about getting into bikini shape for the summer. I guess it’s time for those posts. I’d like to offer a different post. This is how I’m going to not get a bikini body this summer. Join me and together we’ll rule as father and son. (Sorry, still on my Star Wars high.)
Eat Small Meals Often!
Eat I do! I eat when I wake up. I eat when the baby eats. I eat when the baby plays. Mostly, I eat with one hand, so all food needs to be grab-able and eaten with one hand while holding the baby with the other. That includes: chocolate like Barkthins, oatmeal cups, tacos, soups, pizza, milkshakes, smoothies, coffee, meatballs, blah blah.
Drink all the things. I drink a glass of water when I wake up and then nurse my coffee over email. Sometimes I only get three hours of sleep. Then I move on to more water, sometimes a Coke or another coffee drink or tea and more water.
There was one time I was able to get out of the house without the baby and enjoy a Moscow Mule. It was glorious. Then I pressed my luck the next night and it was disastrous. The baby screamed and cried until I rushed home. Oh well.
PS – Cut down on regular Coke? Pshhhhhhhhhhht. You do understand what it means to not have even two hours of consecutive sleep, right?
Mini Workouts!
Get up from your desk every hour. I totally do that! I go pee. And I do it fast and with the door open, watching Spawn. I keep her attention while I do my business so she can’t wander around and tumble.
Flex Your Muscles – Online!
That’s right! You can go online (and work out your eyeballs)! I’ve been streaming Daredevil on Netflix every chance I get. This includes in bed while baby sleeps next to you. I block the light by using a pillow and hide under the covers (kinda).

Lastly, a serious “tip”:
Every body is a bikini body.
It doesn’t matter what size you are. You can rock a bikini at any size. I’ve seen it and it’s fantastic. Own your body. When you feel confident in your own skin, you can pull off any look. I wholly believe this.
So there you have it. That’s how you not get a bikini body for summer.
