When I attended my first Natural Products Expo #ExpoWest a few years ago, I ran into a product called Healthy HooHoo. It was a line of feminine wash products, and my sarcasm meter went up. I was intrigued. Before you scoff, their genesis story is pretty not-funny. A friend of the founder’s was diagnosed with cancer and discovered parabens in her breast tissue.
When the PR team pitched me, I was close to delivering Baby Spawn. I knew that I was going to bleed like a stuck pig after birth, and hey guess what? I did. And guess what else? You have to use maxipads. Talk about feeling like a 14-year old again… (Google “lochia” if you’re not too squeamish about blood and uteruses.)

Healthy Hoohoo – my stash for the vag
Because stitches, y’all.
The team at Healthy Hoohoo sent me sample packs of the wipes which I took with me in the baby bag. In the earlier weeks, they came in handy when I couldn’t get to a shower immediately.
While Health HooHoo is marketed to the general female population, it’s worked well as a postpartum care product as well. I’ve been using Healthy HooHoo’s foaming cleanser because it’s super gentle and pH balanced. The cleanser doesn’t irritate my *ahem* stitches or dry out my peri area. Long story short, I had tearing during labor and had to get stitches. Add this to the whole bleeding thing and it’s not a pretty picture.
Knowing that this was formulated for the vag area was a plus for me. If you’re a new mom, I bet you can imagine what I was dealing with in the shower postpartum. Gentle, non-irritating ingredients were (are) very important. I was dealing with pain, stitches, breastfeeding issues, new mom “baby blues'” and extreme sleep deprivation. The one place I found some respite was the shower.
Outside of the postpartum care, Healthy HooHoo would be a nifty addition to your shower caddy in your gym bag.
Healthy HooHoo contains:

If you’re a new mom or an expectant mom, consider adding Healthy HooHoo to your baby (mama) registry. (There’ll be another post in the future about stuff to buy/gift to expectant moms… when I have time to write…)

Nice work. Only you could review this funny named but useful postpartum product with wit, personality and make it relevant.
My hero.
Thanks! Gotta inject something fun to something so private/personal!
Wow I have never heard of these but even c-section moms could definitely use these! Cause so much goes on down there post baby. I’ll have to put this on the list if we ever have baby #2. Thanks for the info!
Good point! I can’t imagine how c-section moms recover… that is some major surgery plus caring for a newborn? ROUGH.
