I’ve never traveled long distances by bus before so this was a new experience for me. I’m glad Megabus popped my long-trip-ride-by-bus cherry. Here’s the play by play:
In the very early morning, AJ and I uber’d ourselves to Union Station’s bus depot. The line to get on the bus was orderly and quiet. When we got there, the rest of the gals saved seats for us on the top level. W00t! Marla was my seatmate and it was fantastic to get to know her even better on this 6-hour ride.
Perks on every Megabus bus:
- Free wifi!
- Plug-in outlets
- Giant windows
- Seats big enough for my butt
- Space UNDER my seat for my giant carry-on backpack
We stopped in Riverside to pick up a few more passengers, and then we were back on the road. To make things peppier, Xenia passed out delicious Shari’s Berries  cake pops and chocolate bark. Holy crap. Just FYI – I saved my chocolate for DAYS after I came home. That chocolate is so smooth!
Not to be outdone, Julie pulls out a gigantic stash of KIND bars! This is perfect – I love Kind bars! I throw one in my purse whenever I go out. KIND sent us dozens and dozens of bars to try, and with a 6-hour bus ride, this was very welcome to keep our snacking healthy.
We arrived in Las Vegas’ bus depot with no drama. We grabbed a cab and headed to The Plaza Las Vegas.
On the trip back, our ride was even faster. I think we made it home in 4.5 hours (even with a stop in Riverside to drop off passengers)! This time, I rode with Julie and learned a ton about her and her mixed family. With this trip, I was able to spend quality time one-on-one with each blogger – and I’m so grateful for that. I would absolutely take a trip with these blogger friends again.

Disclosure: Megabus provided us transportation to and from Las Vegas, and they’re providing busfare to Vegas (read the T&Cs). KIND Bars and Shari’s Berries also provided fun snacks for our trip. The Plaza Las Vegas is providing a two-night stay for the giveaway winner (read the T&Cs). The above is my honest opinion. Good luck, entrants!
