During the two days I was at the Natural Products Expo, I found a gang of products that made me stop and pay attention. Without further ado, here they are.
Up Yours – or Period Protection
While I am still quite faithful to Softcup, these little vagina cups continue to intrigue me. I met the reps for three different variations – GladRags, Diva Cup, and Lunette. These cups come in different sizes; per the reps, if you’ve given birth, you  may need a slightly larger cup. TMI? Too bad.
Some Men Are Completely Delusional
Other Products
I don’t know about you but I found the Sili Company‘s silicone squeeze bottles to be genius. I know you moms out there like the convenience of those fruit pouches, but wouldn’t it be better if you didn’t put more plastic and junk in the trash? Sili Squeeze is owned and founded by a local mom – yeah, California! The plus side is that you don’t have to just put mashed up fruit in there. You can pour baby food, smoothies, whatever tasty treat you want for your kid. (The bite nozzles also come in different cuts.)
Plenty of the big guns were on the main floor – Sigg, Camelbak, Life Factory. [Life Factory, once again, blew me off, so I say, whatever. The first time, a rep ignored me for another attendee; this time, no one even bothered to greet me while I looked at baby/mini bottles. Thanks, guys.] A new filtered water bottle company showcased their products on the lower floor – Clearly Filtered. (Product review coming soon. I was just sent a pitcher to test.) The person I spoke with was an intern, and I was enamored with his enthusiasm, so I challenged him, “Pitch me.” And he did. Good intern!
While almost all snackbars/’granola’ bars were sweet, I found a small company that made savory bars! Meet GardenBar! Â If you’re like me, sometimes you just want to munch on something that’s not a protein bar but still satisfies. The GardenBar folks sent me home with a full-size bar of the Indian Savory flavor and man it is super tasty!
Now Pure Factory Naturals is a woman-owned business. I ran into this booth and noticed that not only could you use their Flip Flop Foot Repair stick for your feet, you could use it between your thighs! Runners – you know what I’m talking about – this is like a natural version of Body Glide!
The team managing the Parissa invited me to get my leg waxed. Well, don’t let me stop y’all from de-hairing me! Their products can also do your vag area as well as eyebrows and underarms. If I can save some money on waxing at home, I just might have to do this.
So Delicious Happy Ending
After two really long days of sampling, chatting, walking, and lugging, I ended my trip to the Natural Products Expo/Expo West with a So Delicious Almond Milk ice cream bar. Holy crap, this shit is the bomb. I am not a fan of their coconut milk because of the damn stevia, but these ice cream bars are yummy.
Overall, the expo was terrific. Press registration was easy to get to. Parking was great – you parked at Angels Stadium and they shuttled you over, which helped with alleviating traffic congestion. I look forward to seeing what ends up catching my eye next year. Thank you to the Natural Products Expo team and all of the exhibitors who put their game face on this year. Good luck with your products!
Yay, thanks for posting about GladRags! Meagan’s arm and the Moon Cup are stars now 😉
Gotta say, that first condom pic is just a *little* bit ridiculous… but Sir Richard’s is a great brand! We actually wrote about them in our Expo wrap-up post, too: http://blog.gladrags.com/2147/best-of-the-west-our-favorite-finds-from-natural-products-expo-west/
It was a pleasure to meet you, and I’m glad you tagged us in this post so we could see it! See you next year? 😉
Thanks for being informative about the Moon Cup. Looking forward to next year!
