What? You thought I was done writing about our #RunawayToVegas blogger trip? Hell no.
The Wife wanted to see it back in March last year, and I poo-poo’d the idea. Another show? Meh. Boy was I wrong. Marla, Julie, Xenia, AJ and I went, and I feel really bad that The Wife and I didn’t go last year. When I told The Wife how amazing it was, he glowered at me. Oopsie.
The show is housed in a big top, just outside of Caesars Palace’s main building. If you know where the Serendipity is near the Strip, it’s right behind it. Inside, it’s decorated like a twisted Moulin Rouge with lots of kitschy items – even a cut-out bathtub serving as a sofa.
We start the show with an acrobat balancing a ton of chairs with NO NET. Then Melody Sweets comes down from the top and sings and well, she leaves with just her pasties on. After that, the show just keeps moving with so many performances.
Each segment features different performers like a balloon girl, a pair of rollerskating acrobats (insane), tightrope walkers, trapeze artists, and ribbon performers. In between are the comedy duo – the ringmaster and his sidekick, cracking jokes, being very blue, and super raunchy.
I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was staring at the performances. By the time I thought to turn my camera back on, I’d missed a scene. So I stopped trying and enjoyed the show! (Xenia has posted some wonderful photos, though!)
What you need to know about the show: Nothing. Just go! It’s nothing I’ve seen before, and I’d recommend this show to anyone (over age 18).
Big thanks to the team at Absinthe for hosting us during our #runawaytovegas! I can’t wait for you to experience Absinthe!
Disclosure: Show tickets were hosted. The above is my honest opinion. You should go!Â
