WIRI: Dodger Game and my Hello Kitty Bobblehead!

What’s not to like about THIS?

Hello Kitty + LA Dodgers – Japan Night 7-1-12

The Wife and I were fortunate to get tickets for Japan Night at Dodger Stadium yesterday. They played the Mets. Spoiler alert: We won.

Giant Hello Kitty came out to throw the first pitch. It was not good.It bounced on the ground once before the catcher caught it. That said, it must be hard for a person to throw a ball while wearing with a giant furry head on your shoulder.

The game was sold out. I’m considering us lucky to have driven early to Dodger Stadium to pick up my Hello Kitty bobblehead. My friend J was caught in traffic trying to get up to the game; by the time she got here, all 50,000 bobbleheads were gone.

There were a bunch of errors which led to runs for both teams. That was fun to see – the hits, not the errors.

Willie Mays Hayes, aka Dee Gordon of the Dodgers #9

So this guy, Dee Gordon – this guy makes me laugh. He stole 3 bases while we were there. And the whole time, all I could think about was Willie Mays Hayes – the character played by Wesley Snipes in Major League.

Our seats were great. We were sunburned during the first 6 innings, but got relief when the stadium blocked the sun as it was setting. Check out our Hello Kitty crowns!

All in all, good times.

BTW, Dodger Stadium is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! There are tours you can take to go through its history. It’s $15 for adults, $10 for children. I think I just might do this myself!
