Friday Five: 6.8.12 – Panama!

Did I mention I went to the Van Halen show last weekend? It. was. so. fun! Plus side – David Lee Roth and the Van Halens live. Minus side – slushy alcoholic drink dribbling on me by drunk attendee. In all, exactly what I expected!

Five things of the week. I’ll go first.

1. “Fashion” at the Van Halen show – The grown ass men managed to gross me out the most with a combination of Affliction, Ed Hardy, popped polo collars, jeans with stitched back pockets, bracelets, chains, opened shirts. [Did you just throw up a little? Me too.] I still think these guys get their fashion advice from the Real Housewives of Orange County husbands.

2. I adopted a Nikon D40 from the Wife who is now using a newer prosumer camera. My Canon point and shoot is great but it’s also on its last legs. (Bummer, I love how I can slip it in my pocket.) I took a class on how to use a DSLR this week at Samy’s. I’m still confused as to why I would switch from Aperture to Shutter mode. I might just leave it on Aperture setting and go from there.

3. Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals – LORD. Game 5 is tomorrow. I know that everyone and their mother wants the Kings to come back to win at home but come on. A win is a win. If they win Game 5 (in New Jersey), they WIN THE CUP. Who cares where they play!? We need this win. _I_ need this win.

4. There is something to be said about having ZERO meetings during a workday. You can actually get so much more work done. How about we set aside one day for meetings and all other days for work?

5. Married? You should probably not flirt with the woman next to you or LIE and say you’re not married. You will be caught. What. an. idiot.

  1. Yes to number 4. Even though i’m SAH right now, it is so much easier to run out and get all of the things done in one swoop, even if it takes all day. The organizing for things daily twkes up way too much time.

Right!? Even with the meetings, I try to end w/ deliverables or assignments so that the meeting isn’t for nothing. What’s the point of talking for 30 mins if nothing comes out of it?
