Friday Five: 2.3.12

Something new I want to try… not sure this will survive on my blog but here goes.

Five things I’ve re/learned this week:

  1. My cubemate showed me something called Cozi. She is a working mom and kind of frenzied at work; she called it a lifesaver. Cozi is an online application/system that helps organize your household. I think it’d be similar to something like Google apps but it would easier for parents to share calendars, shopping lists, to dos and the like.
  2. The power of the daily double from Ebates called out to me TWICE in two days! First, I picked up a pair of heels on sale plus an extra 20% off PLUS 7.5% cash back. Then, Ebates came calling again, and my FFAB friends flagged the Clarisonic Mia on sale at Drugstore.com. That’s a sale price plus free shipping plus 12% cash back! (It’s on sale for $115.10 on Amazon!)
  3. Patience. You know how sometimes you don’t understand how someone can be so clueless about leadership? In my head, you just step up and get stuff done. I have to remember that not everyone thinks like me. Patience, young Jedi. (I’m talking to myself.)
  4. Empathy. I also learned people are dumb and don’t think about paying it forward. What the hell? There are so many people who are unemployed; the least one can do is to forward job listings to those seeking employment. I’ve been unemployed before – jobsearching is a job.
  5. I have been constantly reminded that I am accountable by my actions and inactions, thanks to the in/actions of others. How do I define my successes in life? What do I want to be remembered for? Have a helped accomplish a goal and/or brought progress in an area of focus? Do these activities make or break me?

Hello, my pretty! Clarisonic Mia in tangerine
