As you may know, I worked the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show last year. Highlight of the evening? Meeting Samantha Brown! Here’s my post from last March on my visit. This year, I’m attending as an out-and-out blogger.
I’m looking forward to “visiting the world.” My new job = zero vacation time. This will be a scouting trip to see if the Wife and I can swing an international trip in the next two years. In addition, I’m looking for US cities to visit and run a half marathon with my pal Patty.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Travel & Adventure Show folks, they put on national shows across the country showcasing the many places I want to go to through tourism boards, vendors, exhibitors and speakers. This year, the show has moved from the LA Convention Center to the Long Beach Convention Center. Take a look at their schedule for the weekend of January 14-15.
Here’s the giant list of exhibitors for the weekend. Ever wanted to go to Tanzania, Zion National Park or Guam? Their tourism board reps will be there! Oh hey, Samantha Brown will be there again. [fangirl squee!] So will Bizarre Foods’ Andrew Zimmern, CBS/Travel Writer Peter Greenberg and Pauline Frommer (yes, the guidebook).
So how much does it cost to attend this travel show, you ask? Lucky for you, I know people. (Ok, some people.) But I do know the LACOT (LA Consortium of Online Travel) bloggers, and they have a discounted ticket code for those of you interested. The regular admission price is $10. Go to LAtravelshow.com and use the code: LACOT and pay only $7!
Or… if you’ve got fast hands and a date, head to LivingSocial where they have a BOGO offer – $9 for two tickets. (This offer expires tomorrow 1/5/12, whereas you can take your sweet time with the LACOT code, if you’re a procrastinator.)
So… I’ll see you there, yes?

Looking forward to seeing you there, Chris!
